  1. Products: The aluminum railings assembled, according to Ramp-Art manufacturer’s standards, are consistent with the regulations of the Ontario Building Code applicable.


  2. Materials : 2.1 Components The railing system is composed of aluminum extrusions alloy 6063-T5.


    The post PPO-298 is extruded in a high-strength aluminum alloy with superior mechanical characteristics and includes a shoe SA-087 allowing a perfect adjustment of each pole.


    The glass panels are tempered or laminated and are in compliance with safety requirements of the glass. They are inserted into the aluminum moldings using a flexible vinyl trim (smooth framing glass: PLB-366 and PLH-319).


    Other types of filling are also available, such as aluminum sheet, solid or perforated.


    The handrail, depending on the choice of architect, will be in one piece, to a maximum of 6 meters long :


    Internal connector sleeves shall be of extruded aluminum.

2.2 Railing finish 


The railing system will have a Duracron® finish, colour to be selected by the architect (from our chart). Also available : Acrynar®, Duranar®, Duranar® XL, anodized and powder coating. 


2.3 Bindings All wedge anchors shall be stainless steel type 304. The assembly hardware is in stainless steel. 


3. Fabrication/Installation : 


The Ramp-Art aluminum railing system will be delivered on the job site in pre-assembled elements and will be installed according to the plans and are conformed to the manufacturer’s instructions.


 Total height of railing shall be 1070mm minimum. 


The recommended spacing between posts PPO-298 is determined by the maximum glass area allowed by the standard NBC 9.6.6.1.


 All the measurements will be taken on the job site before the fabrication is made. 


4. Submittals: 


Submit shop drawings, sealed by a professional engineer. 


Indicate materials, dimensions, core thicknesses, finishes, connections, joints method of anchorage, number of anchors, supports, details, accessories and relationship to adjacent work.
